The Nerve of Her
The meeting where you couldn’t quite make your point and your nerves “got the best of you”; the wave that rushes over you when you read an email from your boss about a challenging topic; the nagging question of why your best attempts to speak up, lean in, and be more assertive aren’t getting the results you’d hoped for. Understanding how to work within your nervous system is the foundation for everything else at work.
Working in a regulated state enables higher levels of creativity, clearer decision-making, and the ability to solve more complex problems. This isn’t about being more assertive, apologizing less, or myriad other pieces of well-intentioned feedback we receive in many professional development sessions. This is about the nervous system and being in a state where we can decide the best path forward in the moment. The Nerve of Her is where we get into it.
The Nerve of Her gives digestible, practical information on how to understand, regulate, and work with the nervous system for immediate results. The more you practice, the more natural it gets, but attending a “Your Nervous System at Work” session will give you a starting point you can use right away.
People share well-intentioned advice, and many of us eagerly seek it out as we build our careers. Those seeds of information help us learn and grow, but to truly flourish, we need something underneath them: an understanding of our own nervous systems. That’s the foundation, the soil, where everything else takes root.
So this is where we start: getting to know our nervous system and how to work with it in the big and small moments, whether we’re alone or in a room full of people. When we take the time to cultivate that understanding, everything else we’re working toward has room to grow.
This is a live, 60-minute session on understanding your nervous system, working within it, finding your way back, and using that to shape the rooms you’re in. It’s grounded in the science of the nervous system, interactive, and built for women who want to learn and grow.
